Is using a product like Chapstick addictive?

No Chapstick is not addictive. It seem like it is but that's probably more psychological. To avoid dry lips try not to lick them so often. Avoid lip products with salicylic acid which can dry lips out.

Keeping lips moist in the winter is tough. One reason they are more vulnerable than other parts of our face is because they don't have oil glands. Emollients like Vaseline and Chapstick or wax-based balms help seal lips again the elements. Many products claim to be medicated which is often not really an accurate claim.
